Surveys attracts a number of advantages in their use such as being cost-effective, easy administration, can be developed and analyzed within a short period of time as opposed to other research design methods. The method allows collection of data from a large number of correspondents. It offers a higher degree of flexibility in the analysis of data and making conclusions that are not rigid. With the use of survey software, various statistical techniques can be used to analyze data so as to determine their reliability, validity, as well as their statistical significance. The background of this research is based on the need to identify various means of protecting the rights of individuals in the South East Asia. This region has been marked by increasing cases of abuse of human rights. The abuses ranges from denial of freedom of worship and association. People are restricted in relation to ownership of property and wealth creation. Increased cases of corruption which leads to unequal distribution of wealth is another factor of human rights violation. The population to be considered in this research will be drawn from the major cities in South East Asia in some selected countries such as India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines and Thailand.
